# Signing PDF document failed

## I couldn’t sign my PDF document. What can I do?

There might be a few reasons for this:

- **PDF contains password protection**

You can only sign PDF documents that are not protected by a password. To sign a document that is protected by a password, you have to remove the password first.

- **PDF is too large**

We can handle PDF documents with a maximum size of 40 MB. To check the size, right-click on the document and go to Properties.

- **PDF is broken**

Your PDF document seems to be broken or doesn't comply with the common PDF standards. There are different online tools available that make it easy to check whether your document meets these standards or not.

If you keep facing any of these issues and you’re not able to sign, please contact our support team at [support@skribble.com](mailto:support@skribble.com).
